Buchheit once again participates in Wreaths Across America

Buchheit Logistics, a regional leader in transportation and warehousing, donated the transportation of two truckloads of wreaths for Wreaths Across America, an annual mission to lay wreaths on veterans graves across the nation.

Each year, Buchheit stores and divisions participate in Wreaths Across America, a "mission to remember, honor and teach." Wreath-laying ceremonies are held at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 2,100 other locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.

Since 2015, Buchheit has participated in Wreaths Across America, donating more than 25,000 wreaths altogether. Each year, drivers donate their time, Buchheit donates wreaths and trucks, and the wreaths are delivered to various veteran cemeteries in the area.

This year, Buchheit Logistics worked with their sponsors, Missouri Great Dane and Cline Wood Insurance Agency, in conjunction with the Buchheit Family Foundation.

On Dec. 8, J.R. Elsperman left Buchheit Logistics in Scott City, Missouri, to head to Columbia, Maine, to pick up the first of the wreaths. Elsperman is a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

On Dec. 11, the wreaths were loaded and the journey back to Missouri began. Then, on Dec. 15, Glen Becker began his journey to make deliveries. Becker is also a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Becker, Elsperman and U.S. Coast Guard veteran Scott Schneier picked up two truckloads full of wreaths from Columbia, Maine and delivered them to four Missouri communities: Perryville, St. Louis, Campbell and Bloomfield, Missouri.

The Buchheit family and team believe that freedom is not free and that the dedication and service of our veterans should never be taken for granted.
