HARRISBURG -- The holidays have made their way to Harrisburg, and the city is asking residents to help spreading cheer (socially distanced-style) this season.

The community has worked hard to adapt to current restrictions to bring holiday cheer and joy to all of you. Help us make these events possible by sharing and helping spread the word.

Holiday-themed events include:
Dec. 5
• Drive-by pictures with Santa brought to you by Harrisburg District Library.
• Christmas at the Museum and Lighting of the Tree brought to you by Saline County Historical Society.

Dec. 10
• Christmas in the Courtyard brought to you by the city of Harrisburg and Harrisburg Town and Country Lions Club with Hot Chocolate from Steam Cafe.
• Harrisburg Lights Parade brought to you by the Harrisburg Town & Country Lions Club, Harrisburg Fire Department and city of Harrisburg.

Dec. 11 and 12
• "A Christmas Carol: The Radio Play" brought to you by Southeastern Illinois College.

Dec. 18
• "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" brought to you by Saline County CEO Program.

Also be sure to check out the Holiday House decorating contest sponsored by Visit Saline County on Facebook. Anyone may enter at no charge, and there are cash prizes for first, second and third place. The county's school districts will be used as contest divisions.

This year may be different, but we look forward to enjoying the Holiday Season right #HereInHarrisburg.

Social distancing measures and protocols will be distributed to those participating and enforced.
