Suspected shooter arrested in Venice

Harrisburg Police Chief Bob Smith said Thursday morning that law enforcement in Venice at 9 p.m. Sept. 24 apprehended the suspect in a Harrisburg shooting that sent Starlon Davis, 26, Harrisburg, to a hospital in the St. Louis area with multiple gunshot wounds early Wednesday morning.

Venice Police apprehended Ian Hamilton, 20, while conducting a traffic stop for a minor traffic offense, Smith said.

Smith said the shooting took place at 12:46 a.m. Sept. 24 at Davis' home in an apartment complex at 436 W. Poplar St., Harrisburg.

Harrisburg Police responding to the scene found the wounded Davis in a plastic chair in his living room.

"It is believed that Davis was shot in the bedroom and then made his way to the living room," said Smith.

Smith said the bullet wounds were in Davis' legs.
