A Galatia man accused of shaking his baby son is in custody at the Saline County Detention Center, brought here from authorities in Indianapolis, Ind., Wednesday afternoon.

Colten Wayne Campbell, 21, 611 E. Church St., Galatia, was taken to the jail 3:55 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of aggravated battery. He remains held on $25,000 cash bond.

The investigation began 3:13 a.m. Dec. 8 with a call to the Saline County Sheriff's Office from Department of Child and Family Services from Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Ind., where the child had been taken by emergency helicopter, Saline County Chief Deputy Ken Clore said.

The child had been at Harrisburg Medical Center 12 or more hours before and was taken from Newburgh, Ind., to a children's hospital in Indianapolis, Ind., Clore said.
