Harrisburg man accused of biting officer, EMT

A Harrisburg man is jailed accused of biting a police officer and an emergency medical technician.

Jason Eric Grotberg, 18, Harrisburg was arrested Sunday at his home at 1340 W. Robinson St., Harrisburg on charges of two counts of aggravated battery on a police officer and aggravated battery on an EMT, resisting and obstructing a police officer, underage consumption of alcohol, possession of drug equipment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Neighbors complained of a loud party and Harrisburg Police responded, according to Police Chief Bob Smith.

Officers found Grotberg passed out at his home and a party of juveniles in progress, according to Smith. When officers tried to wake Grotberg he resisted and bit a police officer twice and an EMT once, Smith said.

Several other juveniles were arrested for fighting and underage consumption of alcohol. Grotberg remained held this morning on $1,500 cash bond in the Saline County jail.
