James L. Wintizer

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James L. Wintizer, 78, Harrisburg, passed away at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Marion.

James was born on Oct. 7, 1932, in Harrisburg to the late Arthur and Blanche (Mugge) Wintizer. On May 25, 1966, he married Nadine Seibert, who survives.

He was a farmer, a member of the National Astronomical Society, member of the Saline County Soil and Water Conservation District Board and a 4-H leader for over 10 years. He was also a member of Big Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving family members include his wife, Nadine Wintizer of Harrisburg; daughter, Cheryl A. (Steven D.) Lambert of Harrisburg; son, Kevin (Liliana) Wintizer of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Brent (Ashley) Davis of Harrisburg, Amanda (Nathan) Moore of Harrisburg and J.C. Lambert of Harrisburg; one great-granddaughter, Addison Ann Moore of Harrisburg; and a brother, Lewis Ray Wintizer of Harrisburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for James L. Wintizer will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jimmy Dale Lambert will officiate. Burial will follow in Big Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Parkinson&#39;s Disease Foundation.
