Ferne Moore
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ferne Moore, 98, of Harrisburg, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2011, at Shawnee Rose Care Center.
Ferne was born on Nov. 1, 1912, in the Dallasania community to the late Willis W. and Julia (Wiley ) Moore. Ferne was never married. She was a cashier at the Brokerage and P.N. Hirsch and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving family members include her sister, Agnes Sitter of Belleville; nephew, Jerry and wife Ann Abby of Harrisburg; niece, Barbara Oestreich of Harrisburg; niece, Pam and husband Gene Kramer of Freeburg; great-nephew, Jeff Oestreich of Harrisburg; great-niece, Kendra Oestreich of Orlando, Fla.; great-niece, Lauren and husband Matt Theuerkauf of Freeburg; great-niece, Lisa and husband Don Simpson of Harrisburg; the following great-great-nephews and -niece, Jeff Oestreich of Tulsa, Okla.; Matt, Michael and Jimmy Oestreich of Harrisburg; and Bethanie Oestreich of Harrisburg; and three great-great-great-nephews, A.J., Asher and Anderson Oestreich of Tulsa, Okla.
Ferne was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Della and husband Ross Abby; brother-in-law, Hollie Sitter; nephew, Don Abby; and a brother in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Chris Winkleman will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday. It was Ferne's request that flowers be omitted and Memorials be made to Harrisburg First Baptist Church.
