Obituary: Hannah Elizabeth Wathen

Hannah Elizabeth Wathen, 18, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away at 11:57 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at her home. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Hannibal. Pastor Jeff Anderson will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Calvary Baptist Church. The Family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Hannah was born August 4, 1996, in Hannibal, Missouri to Robert "Bob" and Susan Scott Wathen.

Survivors include her Parents of Hannibal, MO, 2 Sisters, Christina Merrell (Andrew) of Hannibal, Missouri, Stephanie Wathen of Hannibal, Missouri, grandparents, John and Joanne Wathen of Carrier Mills, Illinois and Herman and Betty Scott of Hannibal, Missouri, one niece, Norah Merrell, 2 nephews; Oliver and Xander Engle. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles; Dawn Gray (Dennis), Cheryl Damron (David), Karen Maier (Bill) and Brian Scott (Toi) and several cousins.

Hannah was a graduating senior at Hannibal High School Class of 2015. She was a member of a special group of eight seniors called the "Carpals". This group was the first class of Anatomy/Physiology II students at Hannibal High School and all were aspiring to work in a medical field. Hannah loved the river and especially enjoyed working on the Mark Twain Riverboat.

She also loved being with her friends and listening to music and was known for her <span class="s2">"</span>quick wit.<span class="s2">"</span> Hannah enjoyed previously going on mission trips to Guatemala with her church group. She was a member of the National Honor Society and Pre-med Club at Hannibal High School. Hannah was also a member of the Calvary Baptist Church Youth Group, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and especially her niece and nephews that knew her as "Aunt Nana."
