The Rev. Donald Gene Stewart Sr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Rev. Donald Gene Stewart Sr., 72, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Harrisburg, was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Marion. He passed away from death to life at 11:25 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at Barnes Jewish Hospital due to complications of chronic myeloid leukemia.

He was the son of Wilbur K. Stewart and Lois P. Stewart.

He was united in marriage to Vivian Whitmore on Nov. 16, 1964.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Stewart; two daughters, Duwanna D. Ellis and Dee S. Norris of Columbus, Ga.; one niece, Dionne Beard of Chicago; two sons, the Rev. Donald G. Stewart Jr. and Donte L. Stewart Sr. of Evansville, Ind.; one nephew, Anthony Beard of Charlotte, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Kamauria Acree of Marion, Julian N. Ellis of Clarksville, Tenn., Jerrall K. Ellis, Michael C. Norris and Malachi G. Norris of Columbus, Ga.; Donte L. Stewart Jr. of Davenport, Iowa, Donovan Stewart of Harrisburg and Donald G. Stewart III; three brothers, Kenneth Stewart Jr. of Glendale Heights, Ronny Stewart Sr. of Gary, Ind., and Derrick Stewart Sr. of East Moline; two sisters, Dr. Patricia Daniels of Chicago and Karen Torres of East Moline; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were one daughter, Donna Stewart; and his parents, Wilbur K. and Lois P. Wilson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and services for the Rev. Donald Stewart Sr. will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Harvest Deliverance Center, 38 S. Vine St., Harrisburg, Ill. 62946. Officiating is the Rev. Donnie Stewart. Burial at Locust Grove Cemetery in Thompsonville. Bypass at Harvest Deliverance Center, 38 S.
