Prep Baseball: Eldorado survives, advance past Fairfield at 2A Regional

Stanton Hathaway tossed a two hitter and the Eldorado offense cranked out nine hits in a 6-1 win over Fairfield in the Carmi-White County Class 2A Regional Tuesday night.

The game was postponed from Monday to Tuesday and the Eagles were scheduled to play Wednesday against Carmi-White County, however that game will now be played today (Thursday) at 4 p.m.

Hathaway went the distance, allowing one earned run on two hits, while striking out a season and career-high 12 batters and walking five as the junior improved to 1-3 on the season.

Eldorado 11-13 went to work early and often against the Mules, scoring three runs in the first inning and tacked on a run in the third, followed by two more runs in the sixth inning.

The Eagles cranked out nine hits on the evening as Josh Pilkington and Max Kasiar each went 2-for-3 on the day. Pilkington and Kasiar each scored a run, while Kasiar drove in a run.

Adam Collier, Kale Oglesby, Richard Graceffa, Trey Vessel and Hathaway all had a hit, while Hathaway scored two runs and knocked in a run in the win. Graceffa and Oglesby each had an RBI, while Oglesby, Pilkington and Collier all scored a run.

This season, Eldorado lost two games to the Bulldogs, including an 8-6 loss at home last time out.
