OBITUARY: Jesse Lee Calvert
Jesse Lee Calvert, 73 of Shawneetown, passed away at his home at 9:33 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015.
He was born in Shawneetown on July 27, 1941, the son of John and Lorene (Hughes) Calvert.
Jesse was a retired coal miner and a Vietnam War Army Veteran. He was a member of the Junction First Baptist Church and also attended the Pisgah General Baptist Church.
Jesse is survived by special friends, Jamie, Joe Dan and Josey Logsdon of Shawneetown and his companion dog, Queenie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Mulvey; three brothers, Charles Wallace, John Wilburn and Franklin D. Calvert.
Graveside service will be held for Jesse at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. The Rev. Richard Malone will be officiating with military rites by Ridgway Legion Post No. 596. Vickery Funeral Chapel of Shawneetown in charge of arrangements.
