A pie in the face!

This week is National Nursing Home Week, and what a better way to kick off the event than with some good, old-fashioned pie-throwing.

Residents of the Shawnee Rose Care Center participated in some well-intended pie-throwing on Friday afternoon as part of a fundraiser for activities like holiday parties and field trips. Residents and staff voted for the two department heads they wanted to "pie." Candace Gaston (left) and Angie Atkinson (right) were awarded the honor.
