Ruth Ann Brown

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Ruth Ann Brown, 65, of Eldorado, passed away at 5:40 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

She was the widow of Louis Everett Brown, who preceded her in death March 4, 2009. They were married Jan. 22, 1962.

Ruth was born in Ridgway on May 6, 1944, the daughter of the late Elmer and Lillie (Young) Wells.

She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of Eldorado.

She worked as a custodian at Eldorado Unit No. 4 school system prior to retirement.

Ruth is survived by three sons, Mike (Charlotte) Brown of Harrisburg, Jim (Judy) Brown of Eldorado and David Brown of Harrisburg. She is also survived by grandchildren, Thomas Mahan, Ashley Brown, Cory Brown, Paige Brown, Jared Brown, Cody Brown and Olivia Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Whittleigh Trusty and Tyler Beere.

Ruth is also survived by four sisters, Grace (John) Morris of Eldorado, Mildred Cornwell of Henderson, Ky., Dorothy McGehee of Evansville, Ind. and Hazel (Jim) Hayden of Newburgh, Ind.; two brothers, Dean (Becky) Wells of Jacksonville, Fla. and Harold (Lois) Wells of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother-in-law; Bill Brown of Eldorado; four sisters-in-law, Neva Mills of Ridgway, Juanita Wells of Bunker Hill, Dot Wells of Evansville, Ind. and Maxine Wells of Carbondale; and several nieces and nephews that were very special and dear to her.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five brothers Howard, Thomas, Clyde, Hayward and Virgil Wells; and an infant sister, Martha Wells.

Funeral services will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home, Eldorado, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009, with Fr. Ignatius Okonkwo officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home.
