Edith Cox

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Edith Cox, 88, of Karbers Ridge, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the Brookstone Estates in Harrisburg.

She was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Harrisburg to Arthur and Polly (Gaskins) Thompson. On Dec. 27, 1937, Edith married Jessie H. Cox, who passed away in March 1980.

She is survived by her two daughters, Donna and Jack Harkey of Bethalto and Linda and W.T. "Tom" Ozee of Karbers Ridge; and two sons, Bob and Linda Cox of Brighton and George and Susan Cox of Kuttawa, Ky.; and several grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Tresea Whitehead; and a son, Arthur H. Cox.

Visitation for Edith with be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Funeral and visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Garden in Bethalto. The Rev. Craig Wurst will be officiating.
