Romaine N. Reeves

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Romaine N. Reeves, 97, from Harrisburg, and recently of Richmond, Va., died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at her home.

Mrs. Reeves was born Feb. 18, 1912, in Harrisburg and was the daughter of Alta and Nell (Harris) Noonan.

In April 1946, she married James S. Reeves, who died in November 1995.

Mrs. Reeves belonged to the Hardy Central Baptist Church in Richmond, Va. She was a resident of Harrisburg until 1998. Romaine served for 36 years as the church clerk for the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg.

Romaine is survived by a sister, Betsy (Noonan) Blume of Arizona; daughter, Pam and son-in-law, Tom Craggs of Paducah, Ky.; a son, Jamie Reeves and daughter-in-law, Vicki of Alton; a son, Tom Reeves and daughter-in-law, Linda Phillips of Richmond, Va. She is survived by grandchildren, Amy Kirchhoff of Paducah, Ky., Lori Schoeneweis of Godfrey, Blake Reeves of Alton, Alex Reeves of Alton and Ashley Lawrence of Louisville, Ky.; and by five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Reeves; two brothers, Herman and Clarence Noonan; and sister, Estelle (Noonan) Cooper.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Chris Winkleman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Reed Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
