Barbara Sue (Woolard) Walker

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Barbara Sue (Woolard) Walker, 74, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the Mt. Vernon, Ind. Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 26, 1935, in Eldorado, the daughter of the late George and Pauline (McMurtry) Woolard.

She retired from Mt. Vernon Senior High School where she was an assistant librarian and was member of Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Ernest Walker, in 2008; her son Lyle in 1978; her daughter Mary Ann in 1955; and her brother George Thomas Woolard.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law; Sam and Nikki Walker of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; her two grandchildren, Carmen and Kalyn; her sister, Betty Davis; and sisters-in-law; Thelma Wiley and Janie Walker; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2009, at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mt. Vernon, Ind., with Bro. Mark Tabor officiating and burial in Immanuel United Church of Christ cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. service time Monday at the funeral home.
