Helen A. Irvin

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Helen A. Irvin, 70, of New Haven, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family after battling an extended illness.

Helen was born in Michigan on Oct. 2, 1938 to the late Ernest Mulnix and Agnes (Denman) Mulnix.

Helen was a very active person, always working, was an avid baker and loved being with and helping her family. She worked most of her life as a nurse. She was a good mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by the community.

Helen is survived by three sons, Don (Glenda) Russell II of Ft. Hood, Texas, Darrel (Stephanie) Russell of Mt. Vernon, Ind. and Roy (Vicki) Russell of New Haven; three daughters, Brenda (Corkie) Pennington of Carmi, Glenda Connor of New Haven and Patty (Doug) Curles of Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, Harold (Marion) Mulnix and Howard Mulnix, both of Hollywood, Fla.; in-laws, Bob Russell, Mary Vaupel and Margaret Boucherie; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be accorded per Helen's request. A graveside committal service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
