</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pauline Kovach, 87, of Karnak, died 4:50 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Mount Vernon.

Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at San Carlos Cemetery in Herrin with Msgr. Ken Schaefer officiating. Arrangements are in the charge of Wilson Funeral Home, Karnak.

She was the widow of Orval Kovach. She is survived by a son, daughter-in-law, daughter, four brothers, two sisters-in-law, three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
