Prep T&F: Sectional Tune Up

The Harrisburg High School girls' track and field team got a nice tune up prior to Thursday's Troy-Triad Sectional with a third place finish at their own invitational Monday afternoon at Taylor Field.

Mt. Vernon won the meet, while Marion finished second in a field that included 14 total teams.

Franchesca Laurencio had a second place showing in the 400 meter run, finishing in a time of 1:04, while Bryleigh Buchanan had a pair of 2nd place finishes. The freshman was second in the 100 meter dash in a time of 13.1 and was second in the 200 meter dash in a time of 27.5.

Buchanan rounded out her day with a third place finish in the high jump, clearing 4-feet-10.

Brantlea Jones cleared the same height in the high jump, but after a jump off with Mt. Vernon, took second place in the field event.

Taylor McDanield was third in the 3200 meter race, crossing the line at 13:47, while Boyles was third in the 800 meters, finishing in a time of 2:40. Rann had a time of 2:04 in the same event for the Bulldogs, but did not place.

Ashley Cain and Tiffanie Milligan turned in times of 6:40 and 7:32 respectively in the 1600 meter run but did not play, while the 1600 meter relay team was third with a time of 4:41.4.

Morgan Denbo had a PR in the discus with a throw of 95-feet, while Devan Jones also finished with a PR in the same event, tossing 67 feet.

Jones then threw 35-feet-6 in the shot put, while Hanna Finely had a PR in the shot put with a heave of 31-feet-2.
