</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Marie Disney, 91, a lifelong resident of Muddy, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1917, in Muddy to the late Joe and Jessie (Leitch) Girot. On Jan. 12, 1935, she married Owen Disney and he preceded her in death in 1990.

She was a member of the Muddy First Baptist Church.

Surviving family members include a daughter, Sue Coffee and husband Curt of Muddy; son, Sam Disney and wife Brenda of Eldorado; son, Richard Disney and wife Henrietta of Galatia; son, David Disney and wife Katie of Ridgway; daughter, Peggy Miley of Murphysboro; sister, Maxine Penrod of Metropolis; sister-in-law, Ruth Girot of Harrisburg; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Richard "Dick" Girot and Bruce Girot; son-in-law, Richard Miley; and three grandchildren, Jill Disney, Amy Disney and Mike Miley.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Burial will follow in Cottage Grove Cemetery in Equality. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the social activities at Fountain View Nursing Home.
