Prep Baseball: Bulldogs beat down Massac Co. for SIRR Ohio win
Harrisburg broke Monday's SIRR Ohio matchup against Massac County wide open with a 10-run third inning en route to a 16-1 victory on the diamond.
The Bulldogs (16-2) had 11 hits on the day as they have now outscored their opponents 42-2 over the last three games.
Jackson Pittman joined Ethan Golish and Cameron Ande as Bulldogs who had multiple hit games. Golish was 2-for-3 with a team-high three runs scored and two RBI, while Andre drove in two runs and scored a run. Pittman went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Ross Rider, Braden Burtis, Brendan Bergan, Jack Ford and Grant Wilson all had one hit on the afternoon.
Burtis drove in a team-high three, going 1-for-3 with a run scored, while Ross Rider had an two RBI day. Bergan and Wilson each scored two runs, joining Reed Rider, who also had an RBI.
Drew Hawkins picked up the win on the mound, scattering four hits on the day and allowing one run (unearned), while striking out five and walking one.
Hawkins is now 2-1 on the season, sporing a 1.467 ERA with 15 strikeouts and 11 walks. He's allowing 11 runs (seven earned) on 11 hits over four outings.
