Colonel Edward B. Cummins

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Col. Edward B. Cummins, of Aberdeen, Md., passed away on April 4, 2009.

He was born in Harrisburg on July 30, 1919, to the late Dr. Edward W. Cummins and Effa T. Cummins.

The devoted husband of the late Anna Jane Cummins, he was the loving father of Edward T. Cummins and wife Amy, Mark A. Cummins and wife Deborah; and his grandchildren, Lauren N. Cummins, Andrew T. Cummins, all of Maryland. He was the dear brother of the late Louise C. Drum and the late Frances C. Businaro.

After graduating from Harrisburg Township High School in 1937, Col. Cummins attended Washington University, St. Louis before he joined the United States Army and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict in the Army Ordinance Corps. Among other assignments, he commanded the development of the Army's 280mm "Atomic Annie" cannon.
