Jean McLain
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jean McLain, 75, of 308 W. Posey Ave., Shawneetown, also known as "Ms. Jean" to the kids at school, passed away 7:24 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Ind., surrounded by her family.
She was born on Dec. 20, 1933, in Pope County, to Ollie Bowen and Lela Faye (Bailey) Walker. She married James P. McLain Sr. on June 4, 1951.
She was a retired teacher's aide at the Gallatin County School and worked at Loretta Nursing Home as social rehab director. Jean was a member the Shawneetown First Baptist Church in Shawneetown.
She is survived by her husband, James O. McLain Sr. of Shawneetown; a daughter, Vickie and Larry Uselton of Shawneetown; a son, Pat and Karen McLain of Equality; two sisters, Sue Stockstill of Shawneetown and Judy and Bob Alvey of Harrisburg; one brother, Jerry and Vickie Walker of Shawneetown; four grandchildren, Logan Uselton and Baily Uselton, both of Shawneetown, Kelly and Dexter Russelburg of Evansville, Ind. and Michael and Candi Uselton of Paulton; and four great grandchildren, Alex, Peyton, Autumn, and Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Jean will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. the following day on Monday, July 27, 2009, with Pastor Jack Hall officiating. Burial will be at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
