SOFTBALL: Elverado manhandles Meridian, 15-0

Elverado's offense got back to producing from top-to-bottom on Monday as the Lady Falcons poured it on Meridian 15-0 in five innings behind three-hit games from Baylie McClanahan (3-4, 3 R), Paige Newfarmer (3-4, 2 R, RBI, 2B) and Britani Prescott (3-3, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2B, HBP), who also tossed a two-hitter in the circle for the win.

Prescott fanned seven and walked two in her five innings of work to improve to 5-4 on the season.

While much of their offense was practically given to them, the Lady Falcons did have a pair of impressive stretches during the rout. After scoring five times on just two hits in the first, Elverado got five more in the second, this time stringing together three straight RBI hits from Newfarmer (single), Precott (double) and Tori Ehlers (triple).

Cheyenne Abbadusky would hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth after RBI base hits from Prescott, Brooke Whittington and Kaitlin Lively in the third.

In addition to the trio with three hits apiece, Abbadusky (2-3, 3 R, RBI, 3B, HR, HBP), Ehlers (1-2, 3 R, RBI, 3B, BB), Whittington (1-1, R, RBI, BB, HBP), Lively (1-3, 2 RBI), Maycee Bowlin (1-2, BB) and Kadie Dunmyer (1-2, HBP) also hit safely for Elverado.

The Lady Falcons (8-9, 6-0) are at Egyptian on Tuesday, at Waltonville on Wednesday, and back home on Thursday against Dongola.
