James Henry Diefenbach

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Henry Diefenbach, 86, of Davison, Mich., passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at noon Monday, June 29, 2009, at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, downtown Davison, Mich. Burial will be in Ottawa Park Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the funeral home.

James was born in Stonefort on July 2, 1922, the son of the late Louis and Clara (Channey) Diefenbach.

James was formerly of Harrisburg and has resided in the Davison area the last 10 years.

James was joined in marriage to Magline Carrier on April 4, 1946, and she preceded him in death on March 25, 1994. He was employed by General Motors Pontiac Motors Division, then retiring in 1976.

Surviving are sons, Louis and Patti Diefenbach of Columbiaville, Mich. Michael and Sharon Diefenbach of Morristown, Tenn.; a daughter, Darlene Sumner of Davison; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Eva Hancock; four brothers, Leroy, Bertus, Ed, and Norman; and many other relatives.

James was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
