Betty Jane Phillips
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Betty Jane Phillips, 85, of Eldorado, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009.
Betty was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., on Sept. 10, 1924, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Esther (Meyer) Treadwell.
She was a member of the Mill Shoals Gospel Assembly Church. Betty was very active in her church and deeply committed to serving her Lord Jesus Christ.
She served in the U.S. Army as a switchboard operator in World War II in Germany and France.
She worked as a bookkeeper at Ellison Electric and Buddy Poole Pontiac prior to retirement.
Betty enjoyed embroidery, quilting, cooking and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by six daughters, Ella Lou Phillips of Eldorado, Bonnie Jo Busby of Springfield, Sandra Lee (John) Cuddy of Dover, Tenn., Judy (David) Simmons of Eldorado, Mary Jean Phillips of Tonawanda, N.Y. and Janet (Brian) Voight of Eldorado; and a son, Larry Edward (Fong) Phillips of Fond du Lac, Wis.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Kimberly (Chad) Neptune of Texas, Benjamin Voight of Kentucky, Amy Wallace of Eldorado, Mike Wallace of Indiana, Angie Underwood of Tennessee, Micah Ferebee of Tennessee, William Vance of Wisconsin, Jacinta Hall of Shawneetown, Cathy Phillips of Wisconsin, Jenny Phillips of Wisconsin, Luisa and Ismael Lorenzo Colorado of Eldorado; and great-grandchildren, Noah and Jayda Neptune of Texas, Jasmine Doggett of Broughton, Tyler and Taylor Underwood of Tennessee, Christina Ferebee of Tennessee, Devin Durham of Shawneetown, and Moses Lorenzo and Emily Lorenzo Colorado of Eldorado and a special daughter-in-law, Mary Phillips of Fond du Lac, Wis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Susanna Henslin.
Funeral services will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home, Eldorado, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, with Bro. John Reed officiating. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Southeastern Pregnancy Resource Center in Harrisburg. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
