OBITUARY: James Brandon 'J.B' Henshaw

James Brandon "J.B." Henshaw, 72 of Harrisburg, passed away 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

He was born in Harrisburg on Jan. 30, 1943, the son of the late Arthur Henshaw and Rachel Babb Henshaw Shewmake. J.B. was married to Kimberly Simpson and she survives.

He worked for Sahara Coal Company until they shut down and afterwards worked for Tison & Hall Concrete. J.B. was a member of the Assembly of God Church and was active in volunteer ministry at the IYC for over 25 years. He was an avid sports fan and loved basketball.

Surviving J.B. are his wife, Kim; his mother, Rachel Shewmake of Harrisburg; two daughters, Penny Lane of Marion and Heather (Joe) Carey of Harrisburg; a son, Chris (Robin) Hyers of Harrisburg; and eight grandchildren, Sarah Lane, Dattie Lane, Jacob Lane, Jonathon Carey, Aaron Carey, Aaron Davis, Autumn Moore and Isabella Hyers.

He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Bill and Charles Henshaw.

Graveside services will precede burial 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery with Monzelle Hanson and Bill Evrard officiating. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. There will be no visitation. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements.
