Wildcats roar past Hardin Co.

The Carrier Mills-Stonefort baseball team improved to 8-4 wtih a 11-0 win over Hardin County Wednesday night.

Darren Betz picked up the win on the bump as he went five innings, giving up just three hits.

The Wildcats jumped on Hardin County early in the first inning for seven runs as Loren Whiting had an RBI single, scoring Anthony Kalodner and then later in the inning, Kalodner came up again, ripping a two RBI double.

In the third, when CMSF scored one run, Betz had an RBI single and later in the fifth, the Wildcats put up three as Brody Walker had a two-run double.

In softball action, Carrier Mills-Stonefort fell 11-3 to Hardin County.

The Wildcats managed four hits on the afternoon as Jessica Dunn had two singles, while Casey Crowder and Emily Scott had a single.

"Fielding errors killed us again (Wednesday)," CMSF head coach Scott Figg said. "Hardin County is a solid team and when you give them and extra out every inning, they'll make you pay."
