Thurman Earl 'Pink' Gulley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Thurman Earl "Pink" Gulley, 87, of Harrisburg, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home in Carrier Mills.

Thurman was born on June 7, 1922, in Harrisburg, to the late Ellis and Edith (Dunn) Gulley. On March 17, 1945, he married the former Helen Simpson. She preceded him in death on Nov. 25, 1987.

Thurman is a retired coal miner; he was formerly employed at Sahara Coal Company. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion of Carrier Mills.

He is survived by two sons, Donald Gulley and wife Pat of Harrisburg and Jerry L. Gulley and wife Beth of Carrier Mills; two daughters, Sharon Isom and husband Brian of Anna and Linda Teegarden and husband George of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Nina Hartman of Harrisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thurman was preceded in death by his parents; wife Helen; and one brother, Harold Gulley.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg.
