OBITUARY: Kathleen Bynum

Kathleen Bynum, 83 of Carrier Mills, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Kathleen was born in Harrisburg on Jan. 23, 1932, to the late Roy and Helen (Sherfield) Dorris. On April 15, 1950, she married Harold Bynum and he preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2003.

She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving family members are her son, Jim (Marsha) Bynum of Vienna; daughter, Kathy Hankins of Carrier Mills; four grandchildren, Denise (Joe) Kennedy of Harrisburg, Billi Jo (Terry) Headrick of Harrisburg, Jennifer Meyerrink of Carrier Mills and Matthew (Jessica) Bynum of Vienna; 15 great-grandchildren, Christina, Maci and Penni Bynum, Bryce and Kyarn Partridge, Jordan, Daniel, Scottlynn Kinsey, Jaxon and Madison Kennedy, Lux-Adaire Meyerrink, Triston and Ashton Hutchinson, Patrick and Marki Hutchinson; sister, Mildred Tedford; sister, Norma (Hubert) Flannel; brother, Jack (Arlene) Dorris; sister, Lucielle (Harold) Casey; and several nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Zachary Tyce Reeder; sister, Pauline Cervantes; sister, Wanda Parrish; and brother, Chester Dorris

A committal service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Joyner Cemetery in Stonefort. The Rev. William "Bud" McDaniel will officiate. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carrier Mills Nursing Home Activity Fund.
