Obituary: Arthur Reuben 'Art' Weaver
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Arthur Reuben "Art" Weaver, 91, of Harrisburg, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Ridgway Manor in Ridgway.
Art was born on April 27, 1920, in Harrisburg, the son of Ernest and Elizabeth (Suver) Weaver. He married Thelma Mae Odum on April 27, 1941, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 2011.
Art owned and operated an appliance repair business in Harrisburg and Saline County for many years and later worked and retired from A.L. Bowen Center. He was a member of McKinley Ave. Baptist Church, Harrisburg Masonic Lodge No. 325, and was an avid gardener who loved growing and sharing his peppers and tomatoes, and loved to fish.
Art is survived by his grandson, James Weaver of Portland, Ore.; granddaughter, Amy Pollari of Norfolk, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Krista (Linn) Sipes, Cameron Pollari and Grayson Pollari; and a niece, Patti Langford of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma; son, Jerry Weaver; grandson, Terry Weaver; and a sister, Evelyn Langford.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to McKinley Avenue Baptist Church, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
