Obituary: Helene Celeste Hish

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Helene Celeste Hish, 89, lifelong resident of Ridgway, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, in Genoa, Wis. Helene had moved to that area to be cared for by her family.

She was born in Junction on June 23, 1922, to the late Raymond and Carrie (Drone) Kaufman. She was a lifelong and faithful member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Helene was married to Charlie Hish, who preceded her in death. She graduated from high school and had a three-year degree in college. Her last employment was a teletype operator for over 20 years. She loved animals and was a very caring person.

Helene is survived by many nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Lawrence Kaufman; and four sisters, Kathleen Gates, Louise, Hazel and Dorothy Kaufman.

Graveside services for Helene will be starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Ridgway. Fr. Steven Beatty will officiate. Those attending should meet at the cemetery.
