Prep Baseball: Eldorado tops Trojans with rally
Eldorado rallied with a 5-run sixth inning to beat Crab Orchard 5-4 Friday at the Eldorado Sports Complex.
The Eagles (4-7) gave up a run to the Trojans in the third and then allowed three more in the top of the sixth before busting out the rally caps.
Eldorado started the inning by loading the bases with Richard Graceffa (reached on an error), Drew Woolcott (hit by a pitch) and Adam Collier (reaching on an error). Stanton Hathaway then singled to center, scoring Graceffa and Woolcott, while Collier later scored on an error and Hathaway scored on a wild pitch to knot the game at four.
After Josh Pilkington struck out, Jayden Sigler singled to center field and after Max Kaiser's groundout that moved Sigler to second, Kale Oglesby singled to center field, scoring Sigler for the go ahead run.
Eldorado had just four hits on the day as Collier, Hathaway, Sigler and Oglesby all had one.
Kasiar got the start, working five strong innings, allowing three runs on three hits, while striking out five and walking two.
Drew Woolcott, who came on in relief, worked two innings, striking out one and allowed one run on two hits.
Johnston City 11, Eldorado 6
On Thursday, Johnston City swept the regular season meeting from the Eagles, winning 11-6.
The Indians out up three runs in the first and two more runs in the second, adding a run in the third, before scoring three more runs in the fourth to move ahead 9-0.
Eldorado (3-7) rallied for six runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Collier went 2-for-3 at the dish, while Pilkington finished 2-for-4 to lead the Eagles at the plate.
Webber Township 5, Gallatin County 3
Dustin Oldham went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI for Gallatin County, but it wasn't enough as Webber Township posted a 5-3 win over the Hawks over the weekend.
Lucas Hise also had an RBI for Gallatin County, while Thomas York, Kory Hise, Patrick Clark and Nathan Shultz all had one hit.
Kory Hise took the loss, going five innings, allowing one earned run, while striking out three. Hunter Walters worked two innings of relief work, striking out one.
The Hawks are at Elverado today (Monday) and will play at Galatia Tuesday, followed by a road game Thursday at Pope County and will host Eldorado Friday with all games slated for a 4:30 p.m. start.
