Ovieta Evelyn Booten
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ovieta Evelyn Booten, 81, passed away at 4:17 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at her home in Shawneetown.
Ovieta was born in Harrisburg on May 3, 1927, to C.T. and Ollie (Mullinix) Reynolds. She grew up in the Dorrisville neighborhood.
She married Jesse (Mutt) Raymer of Equality and the couple had four children, Terry (Linda), Leon (Kay), Stephen, and Cathy, all of Shawneetown.
She later married Glen Hancock and Kenneth Booten.
Ovieta is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and close friend John Robert Thomas. Grandchildren include Kim Raymer of Shawneetown, Sean Raymer in California, Trever (Tina) Walker of Marion, Justin (Angie) Raymer of Ridgway, Aaron (Gail) Walker of Boonville, Ind., Wes Raymer of Shawneetown and Nikki Raymer of Evansville, Ind. Great-grandchildren are Kaitlyn Raymer, Madison Raymer, Abigail Walker, Trenton Raymer, Sidney Raymer, Brooklyn Raymer and step-grandchildren Cody Rohlfing, Alec Bannister and Allison Bannister.
She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, William C. (Babe), Albert, Noel and Waldo Reynolds, as well as two infant siblings, Ruby and Howard. She was also preceded by her husbands and grandson, Blake Raymer.
Ovieta was a homemaker, as well as an employee of the former Shawneetown Cabinet Factory, and served as a certified nurse assistant at several area nursing homes.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawneetown.
Visitation for Ovieta will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Services begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bob Williams of Equality officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
