Delmas B. Allen

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Delmas B. Allen, 84, resident of Omaha, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Ind.

He was the husband of Mary Louise (Vangampler) Allen, who survives. They were married May 2, 1964. His first wife, Erma Louise (Cornick) Allen, preceded him in death Jan. 7, 1961. They were married in May of 1955.

Delmas was born in Equality on Nov. 2, 1924, the son of the late George Hugh and Gertrude (Overton) Allen.

He was a member of Eldorado First Baptist Church in Eldorado.

He served in the U.S. Army Occupational Forces of Japan.

He worked as a farmer and also worked a number of years as a mechanic for Muhs.

Delmas is survived by two daughters, Karen (Dean) Lotz of St. Peter and Mary Ann (Randy) Sample of Jackson, Mo.; two sons, Delmas Wayne (Connie) Allen of Carmi and John Robert Allen of Alexandria, La.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Tiffany (Dale) Cornelius, Bryan Lotz, Nathan Lotz, Anjelica Allen, Delmas Luke Allen, Liliana Allen, Clayton Sample and Chelsie Sample.

Delmas is also survived by a sister, Helen Williams of Marion; four brothers, Emil (Rita) Allen of Eldorado, Clarence (Barbara) Allen of Eldorado, Robert (Mary Jane) Allen of Seven Lakes, N.C., and Bernie (Barbara) Allen of Pinehurst, N.C.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Allen; and a grandchild, Caleb Gene Allen.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Randy Plunkett and the Rev. Gary Hardesty officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Eldorado with military honors.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home.
