Betty Triplett
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Betty (Elizabeth Kathryn) Triplett, 86, of Galatia, passed away peacefully Dec. 30, 2008, surrounded by her family.
Betty was born June 6, 1922. She married Harry Griffin Triplett on June 2, 1940. Their open love for each other for the past 68 years was an example for everyone.
She is survived by her husband and two sons, Mike and Gloria Sue of Galatia and Jamie (Pat) and LaDonna of Eldorado. Her grandchildren are Jackie (Neal) Heflin, Steven (Angela) Triplett, John (Julie) Triplett, all of Galatia, Brandon (Michelle) Triplett and Amanda (Mike) Klein of St. Louis. Great-grandchildren are Brian and Dustin Heflin, Noah, Jonah, Cameron, Nicholas, Isaiah, Natalie and Griffin Triplett. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Maloy.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Shaw; father, Jamie Simmons; brother, Jim Simmons; sister, June Baugher; and great-grandson, Adam Heflin.
Betty was a beautiful, classy lady and will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege to be around her.
She was a member of Galatia Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, with burial in Webber Cemetery with Dr. Harrison Peyton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (her favorite charity) or Galatia Methodist Church.
