</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Alice Regina Hayes, 85, Harrisburg, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Gaskins-Jones Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Paul Widicus officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born April 30, 1923, in Saline County to Dave and Hazel (Edwards) Bowen. She married John Charles Hayes, who preceded her in death April 3, 1981.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy (Jim) Steffen of Harrisburg; a son, John Robert (Donna) Hayes of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Rhonda (Mike) Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., John Robert Hayes Jr. of Flora, Samantha (Patrick) Renfro of Lerner and Casey Hayes of Harrisburg; and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Bowen and David Bowen; and a sister, Ethel Jeanette Hayes.
