Lucy Rosetta Darnell

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lucy Rosetta Darnell, 89, of Ridgway, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. Rose, as most knew her, was born in Uniontown, Ky., on Oct. 24, 1919, to the late Joseph and Betty (Mann) Hagan.

On Aug. 18, 1934, she married Walter Darnell, who preceded her in death in 1979. She was a homemaker and loved to play all types of games, but her real passion was bingo playing almost every night. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be greatly missed by the Ridgway community.

She is survived by one brother, Marlin Darnell of Portage, Ind.; two daughters, Helen (Tom) Monroe of Ridgway and Cleona (Jim) Ozee of Omaha; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Monroe; three sisters, three brothers; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation for Rose will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway.

Funeral for Rose will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Gallion officiating. Interment will be in the City Cemetery in Uniontown, Ky.
