Norma Jean Van Cleave

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Norma Jean Van Cleave, 80, of Carbondale, died 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at her residence.

Norma Jean was born Oct. 4, 1928, at Harrisburg to James and Easter Ann (Stewart) Givens.

She married Carson Samuel Van Cleave on Dec. 30, 1963, in Carbondale. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2001.

Survivors include two sons, Raynald Witherspoon of Harrisburg and Thomas Brett Witherspoon of Carbondale; four daughters, Darlene and Robin Irene Witherspoon, both of Nashville, Tenn. and Kathleen Williams and Frances Beth Van Cleave, both of Carbondale; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters.

Norma was a Jehovah's Witness and a member of the Kingdom Hall of the Carbondale congregation.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at the Carbondale Kingdom Hall with Mr. Aaron Queensbury officiating.

Meredith Funeral Home of Carbondale is assisting the family with arrangements.
