Marilyn was born on Oct. 19, 1936, in Eldorado, the daughter of Norman and Helen Vaught. Marilyn was united in marriage to Lonnie R. Young on June 29, 1968, in Bloomington. Together, they shared more than 42 years of marriage.

Mrs. Young was a member of the New Horizon Baptist Church of Marion. She was a professional business woman. During her business career, Marilyn held many responsible management positions.

Marilyn was a lady with exceptional talent for all kinds of crafts and hobbies. Marilyn's talent is displayed throughout Southern Illinois in the beautiful clothes and gifts Marilyn made for her family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband, Lonnie R. Young of Marion; one son, John Joseph Bouyet of Dyersburg, Tenn.; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Karen Young of Carterville and Lance and Nancy Young of Aurora, Colo.; two grandchildren, Cy and Lindsey Young; and other loving family members and many good friends.

Marilyn was a beautiful and special lady. But, most of all she was my lady. I called her Lonnie's Lady! I dearly loved Marilyn every moment of the 42 years we had together. I will love and miss Marilyn every moment of the years that remain in my life.

The massive stroke that struck Marilyn destroyed many good features of Marilyn's life, most of all her appearance. Her face and body were left paralyzed and lifeless. In honor of her wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Good-bye pretty wife and thank you for the 42 wonderful years.
