Hundreds of area residents turned out - many in bathing suits or costumes - for the eighth annual Polar Plunge at Lake Ontario Beach Park in Charlotte, N.Y., on Sunday. The event, in which participants take a quick dip in Lake Ontario, raises thousands for Special Olympics each year.
