Dear Michael: Silver and gold fashion advice

Dear Michael,

I am the single mother of three children. My work would like to relocate me. My children are all younger than 5, so if we were to move this would be as good a time as any before they begin school. I'm all for the idea; my parents take issue with how far away we would be. We would not be relocating just out of state; we would be going to Scotland. I understand my parents' trepidation with this arrangement, but it would be good for us and it comes at a point in my children's lives that it could be done with minimal social upset. What should I do?
