Prep baseball: EHS blanks Bearcats
The Eldorado baseball team used an 8-run first inning to dispose of Galatia 11-0 in five innings Wednesday at the EHS Sports Complex.
The Eagles pounded out 14 hits on the day as Trey Vessel paced the Eldorado offense with a 3-for-3 performance and scored two runs in the win.
Adam Collier, Christian Dalton and Josh Pilkington all had a pair of hits, with Collier driving in three, while scoring one run. Pilkington also had two RBI and scored a run himself.
Drew Woolcott, Richard Graceffa, Max Kaiser, Bryson Sigler and Kale Oglesby all had hit, while Woolcott and Sigler each had an RBI on the day, Woolcott and Graceffa each scored a pair of runs, while Sigler and Oglesby each scored a run.
Luke Lawrence and Logan Carter had the only two hits for the Bearcats.
Woolcott and Graceffa each pitched two innings for the Eagles, with Woolcott striking out five. Graceffa gave up the two hits, while John Meredith pitched one inning, striking out three and walking one.
The Eagles are scheduled to host Benton today at 4:30 p.m., followed by playing host to Norris City-Omaha-Enfield on Saturday.
