Attorneys call Foxwoods employees to witness stand
Two Foxwoods Resort Casino employees dealing with employee training and communications issues took the witness stand this morning as the third day of hearings began at the Hartford offices of the National Labor Relations Board.
Foxwoods' owners, the Mashantucket Pequot tribe, have filed a dozen complaints against the board as well as the United Auto Workers union following the Nov. 24 election where dealers at the casino voted 1,289-852 to organize.
The Mashantuckets have argued ballots should have been printed in Chinese to reflect the diversity of the dealer workforce at Foxwoods. The morning's witnesses testified a variety of translation methods have been employed by different departments at the casino throughout the years with a formal translation service hired less than a year ago for some communications.
