OBITUARY: Gregory Wayne Dykes

Gregory Wayne Dykes, age 53 of Harrisburg, passed away at 3:34 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Greg was born on Nov. 18, 1960, to Marie (Fisk) (Dykes) (Howard) Reynolds and the late Harold Dykes in San Francisco, Calif. Greg was a truss designer for Southern Truss for 30 years. Greg loved building, cooking, sailing, sky diving, rappelling, traveling, swimming, diving and helping people.

Greg leaves behind his mother Marie Reynolds and stepfather, Otis Reynolds; sister, Lois Baker and husband Dale of Shermansdale, Pa.; stepsister, Diane Warren and husband Steve of Mt. Zion; niece, Teresa Harbold of New Bloomfield, Pa.; stepniece, Brittany Howard and husband Justin of Decatur; stepnephew, Adam Warren of Columbus, Ind.; great-nieces, Maddy and Jamie Harbold of New Bloomfield, Pa.; fiancee, LaVon Fox of Mitchellsville; special buddy, little Elizabeth; and numerous step-nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Harold Dykes; twin brother, Darryl Lee Dykes; grandfather, Frank Fisk; grandmother, Harryette Barrington; uncle, Frank Allen; and aunt, Cindy Rich.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Barry Bascom will officate; burial will follow Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
