Electronic recycling offered Saturday
Electronics Recycling and Disposal returns to Carrier Mills 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Anyone may drop off electronic items for recycling or disposal.
No longer are electronics allowed to be thrown away and taken to a landfill. Anything that can be plugged in, is now required to be recycled or disposed of properly. A recycler will be available on Saturday at the Carrier Mills Municipal Building Parking lot, 101 N. Mill St. in Carrier Mills.
TV's, flat screen and computer monitors will be taken, for a fee of $5 dollars.
Other items of electronic nature will be taken for free. Refrigerators, freezers, printers, copiers, washers, dryers, irons, DVD players, VCR's, fax machines are just a few of the accepted items.
In addition, used motor oil and batteries of all sizes will be taken for free. Old paint can be dropped off as well, for $1 a gallon and tires can be recycled, but the price is based on the size of the tire.
The event is not limited to just Carrier Mills residents, anyone in the area may drop off items.
