HHS bringing 'Beauty and the Beast' to stage this weekend
With a tale as old of time, fine arts fans will have their chance to see Harrisburg High School's production of "Beauty and the Beast" this weekend at Southeastern Illinois College.
"Our kids have been putting in a great deal of time and effort into this production, and I think the audience will be impressed with all of the magic and larger than life characters," said director Hannah Naas Drake.
Performance times will be 7 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 21 and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22.
With a cast of 65 students, Drake says the production wouldn't be possible without so much support.
"Our art and building trades classes with Natalie Jones, Cacy Ellis and Nick James have put in a tremendous time helping make our sets, so it's really a group effort with so many students involved," said Drake. "And I really think the audience will be impressed with the wonderful costumes. It should be a very fun show."
Tickets can be purchased at the door while they remain at the George T. Dennis Visual and Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.
