Man accused of breaking into ex's house, stabbing a visitor
A St. Charles man is facing three felony charges after police said he broke into his ex-girlfriend's home and stabbed a male visitor in the neck with a broken glass.
Police said Rodrigo Jimeniez-Blanquet, 28, 1006 W. Main St., broke into the woman's home on the 600 block of Indiana Avenue by breaking a window and unlocking a front door dead-bolt just before 11 p.m. Dec. 10.
Jimeniez-Blanquet then pushed the woman's female roommate aside and walked toward the woman and her male friend. Jimeniez-Blanquet picked up a glass from the kitchen, broke it and stabbed the male in the neck.
He left the home in his vehicle shortly before police arrived.
The man was taken to Delnor-Community Hospital where he received 10 stitches.
Police apprehended Jimeniez-Blanquet on the 1500 block of West Main Street without incident.
The Kane County state's attorney's office authorized charges of felony home invasion, aggravated battery and domestic battery.
Jimeniez-Blanquet remained in the Kane County Jail on $100,000 bail as of Friday.
He is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
The most serious charge, felony home invasion, is a Class X felony and carries a sentence of between six and 30 years in prison.
