Road closed after head-on crash
A coroner has been called to a head-on collision on Route 233.
The crash involves a six-wheel box truck belonging to Henderson Johnson Company out of Syracuse and a sport utility vehicle. There is heavy damage to both vehicles with parts scattered along 50 feet of the road.
The crash occured about 3/4 of a mile north of the Route 5 intersection. Route 5 remains open to traffic, but that portion of Route 233 is closed.
Westmoreland, Clinton and Clarks Mills firefighters responded, as well as state police and Oneida County sheriff's deputies.
