Mass. moves up primary; Legislature wraps up official business

The Legislature wrapped up its 2007 business last night by moving up the state's presidential primary, advancing several lower-profile bills and leaving many more untouched.

Lawmakers voted to hold the presidential primary a month earlier than usual -- on Feb. 5 -- which they say will make the state more relevant in national elections.
